Ros Barber’s critically-acclaimed debut novel The Marlowe Papers (2012), written entirely in verse, was winner of the £10,000 Desmond Elliott Prize, joint winner of the Author’s Club Best First Novel Award and long-listed for the former Orange Prize for Fiction. She is the author of three collections of poetry including a Poetry Book Society recommendation and her poems have appeared in numerous anthologies including Faber’s Poems of the Decade (2012). Next year will see the publication of her second novel Devotion (2015) and the non-fiction book 30 Second Shakespeare (2015), which she edited and co-authored. She teaches for both Arvon and the Poetry Society, and is a lecturer in Creative and Life Writing at Goldsmiths, University of London.
